Taking place at Musical Theatre on May 26 2018, the theme of the 4th annual TEDxBasel conference will be Borders & Frontiers and will feature 10 inspiring speakers and talented performers with Ideas Worth Spreading from the fields of Design, Science, Sports, Technology, Leadership and more.
Speakers from all walks of life join this year’s TEDxBasel lineup, including Gabriela Friel, a 11 year old inspiring others through her love of unicycling; to University of Basel Assistant Professor, Prisca Liberali’s groundbreaking research at the Friedrich Miescher Institute on Organoids and how these self organised stem cell systems can potentially provide insights into development and diseases as never before.
“Each year we are astounded by the incredible ideas our speakers have to share and the overwhelmingly enthusiastic feedback from the attendees is a testament to that,” said Jennifer Chough, Main Organizer. “The 2018 conference will be our biggest event yet and we are proud to present such a diverse, multinational and multicultural roster of speakers to share ideas from
the frontiers of their fields.”
In addition to the live talks, this conference will feature a Popup Talk, an original TEDxBasel initiative that was launched for the 2016 TEDxBasel conference. This gives conference attendees the unique opportunity to signup to give a short 3 minute Popup talk sharing their own ideas. The best talk will be selected by fellow audience members to go onstage to be presented alongside the official roster of TEDxBasel speakers, on the day of the conference.
Registrations have just opened for the conference and are already selling quickly. This year features a new streamlined checkout experience that will enable tickets to be purchased in under two minutes. And for the first time, TEDxBasel is pleased to be able to offer a special discounted ticket to those aged 26 and under, ensuring TEDxBasel’s younger fans are equally able to attend, participate and share their ideas.
