Swiss-Chinese Life Sciences Forum: Challenges, Responses and Opportunities in the Chinese Health Sector

The Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce,, the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG are organizing the
Swiss-Chinese Life Sciences Forum to promote collaboration between Switzerland and China, in particular in the health sector and life sciences industry and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Basel-Shanghai City Partnership.

Challenges Responses and Opportunities in the Chinese Health Sector
Rapid demographic and social changes in China are placing new pressures on the healthcare system as an ageing and increasingly wealthy population seek responses and treatments for ailments associated with a prosperous nation.

This session will investigate some of the key challenges of healthcare provision in a rapidly changing China, how the Chinese government and the global healthcare industry is responding to these challenges, and what opportunities ae being created for large as well as small and medium-sized Swiss enterprises.

Digital Health in China

The ultra-rapid expansion of mobile and digital technologies are affecting every facet of life in China today including healthcare.

This session will examine how these new technologies can be applied to solving China’s current and future healthcare problems with a particular focus on how technologies are helping in diagnosis, individualised health, monitoring and treatment. The session will also consider some of the solutions offered by Swiss and Chinese companies and the challenges of delivering these services and solutions in the Chinese environment.
