Have you developed innovative solutions, new approaches and sophisticated products in the field of Industry 4.0? Then we would like to get to know you.

BaselArea.swiss is hosting a challenge for start-ups and industry 4.0 projects at the Industry 4.0 trade fair in Mulhouse, BE 4.0 for short.

We offer a platform which encourages you to promote your product or service. In addition, you will gain access to partners and customers in the region through BaselArea.swiss and enjoy the unique opportunity of testing your product in a real environment and receiving feedback from experts.

A prestigious panel from industry will evaluate the submitted projects. Up to six candidates will proceed to the finals. Among other things, they can look forward to an exhibition stand at the BE 4.0 with access to potential customers.


The Challenge is aimed at young entrepreneurs, SMEs, university projects with industry 4.0 products or services. All projects that are active in Switzerland, Alsace, France or Baden-Württemberg, Germany and that can demonstrate a prototype or a product can participate.

The winning projects:

  • win a stand at the BE 4.0 trade fair in Mulhouse in November 2019
  • are portrayed on our online channels
  • benefit from the vast BaselArea.swiss network
  • mentoring from industry experts, tailored to your needs
  • co-working space for six months in one of our three Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area sites

  • have the option to appear as key note speaker at one of our events
  • a free one-year membership to the Société Industrielle de Mulhouse (SIM)

  • privileged access to the network and activities of the partners of the Interreg Upper Rhine 4.0 project.

BE 4.0 Fair for Industry 4.0 in Mulhouse

The Salon Industries du Futur Mulhouse, BE 4.0, is one of the most important meeting points for European Industry 4.0 solution providers and interested parties. The fair is offering a platform for Swiss, French and German companies presenting their latest innovations in the field of Industry 4.0, and expects more than 3500 visitors on two days.
