Basel startup wins out over 100 companies

Basel startup has been included in the Austrian health accelerator Health Hub Vienna. The company has developed a doctor-patient communication platform.

According to a press release, AG won out over more than 100 international applicants and has become the only Swiss company to be included in the Health Hub Vienna. Ten startups made it through the selection process and will embark on a three-month program in the “most innovative health accelerator of Austria”.

The Basel company impressed with its propriety communication platform docdok. This cloud-based platform aims to close the gap between patients and healthcare professionals, such as hospitals and doctors. It is already being used by university hospitals, pharma groups and medtech companies, with more than 4,000 patients connected to docdok via an app. The platform transfers data that is ascertained via a questionnaire on the one hand, and information collected by medical devices on the other. “As a result, docdok enables a paradigm shift from volume-based to quality-oriented healthcare,” the startup writes in the press release.

Ulrich Mühlner and Yves Nordmann founded AG in 2017. Prior to this, Ulrich Mühlner was Senior Pharma Manager at Novartis and corporate consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. A practicing doctor, Yves Nordmann previously co-founded both the Basel company E-Medicus AG and WellDoc.
