Bern – The Swiss National Science Foundation and the Commission for Technology and Innovation have launched a new programme to foster innovation that assists scientists transform their research results into products.
The new, joint programme from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI), called BRIDGE, offers “new funding opportunities at the intersection of basic research and science-based innovation,” according to a statement.
The programme comprises two parts. The first, called Proof of Concept, supports young scientists develop applications or services based on their research results irrespective of field of research. The second part, which is called Discovery, is addressed at more experienced researchers who want to gauge the innovation potential of their research results with the aim of implementing them. This second part is restricted to fostering technological innovations with a societal or economic impact.
