Liestal BL – The innovation and cooperation spaces in the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area in Allschwil are in high demand, resulting in a need to expand further. A new director will also be hired.
The previous director of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area, André Moeri, will leave the life sciences innovation platform at the end of the year, according to a statement from the canton of Basel-Landschaft. Together with the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Jura, as well as the chamber of commerce of both Basels, the canton is searching for his successor.
“We have found the ideal location for turnkey laboratories and offices as well as an attractive group of life sciences innovation projects and have received broad support to expand to other locations,” said the outgoing director.
“The Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area is no longer a start-up. It has successfully established itself as a leader within the network of the Swiss Innovation Park in just a short period of time, for which we have André Moeri and his team to thank,” said Thomas Weber, president of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area and economic director of the canton of Basel-Landschaft, when underscoring the need for further space.
The new director will benefit from the already good infrastructure and outstanding position, added Weber. The innovation space occupies an “important interface between pre-competitive and commercial activities”.
