The annual MPP conference, organized by the Medtech & Pharma Platform industry association, brings together experts from the pharmaceutical and medtech industries, research institutes and competent authorities. The event offers ample opportunities to discuss product innovations and trends at the intersection of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and In Vitro Diagnostics (IVDs). Moreover, it provides a platform to establish new business collaborations.
The goal of the congress is to enhance synergies between pharma and medtech companies and to unlock potential for future innovations. Focus areas of the program are topics related to medical devices, IVDs and combined products (pharmaceuticals combined with medical devices). The conference sessions also address questions referring to the regulatory framework, intellectual property rights, digital health, management of patient data, market access and reimbursement.
Key-note speakers Michael Doherty, Head Product Development at Foundation Medicines, and Charles Bridges, Global CTO at Actelion, will open the conference with insights into innovations at the intersection between pharma and medtech.
Other prominent speakers at this years’ conference include Sheuli Porkess from the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), Thomas Metcalfe from Roche, Oliver Shergold from Novartis, Wolfgang Rehmann from Taylor Wessing, Martin Proença from Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM), Frank Kumli from DayOne and Jochen Spuck from the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE/IPI).
In parallel to the presentations and panel discussions, the MPP will host an exhibition over the two days, inviting participants to discuss innovative pharmaceutical and medtech products, as well as combinations thereof.
A matchmaking tool will facilitate participants in identifying and meeting potential relevant business partners during the conference breaks, thereby fostering business cooperation.
