A haunting question for a startup or an SME is: “How do we receive money for our R&D project – for free?” Well, everything has its prize, but it makes quite a difference if a Venture Capitalist requires ownership, i.e. shares, for capital or if research grants provide so-called non-dilutive fundings and keep the ownership untouched.
BaselArea.swiss helps to understand and seize the different opportunities that national and European funding programs offer. In any case, effort is required in terms of finding collaboration partners, writing grant applications and administration, but the benefits can be huge and success rates can be up to 50 percent, depending on the program.
During the “Innosuisse Roadshow” which BaselArea.swiss organized together with Innosuisse on March 22nd, Innosuisse explained the continuing and new elements of the national innovation organization compared to the former CTI (Commission for Technology and Innovation). More information can be found here.
The upcoming event “Finance your Innovation – non-dilutive funding and support for startups and SMEs” will take place on April 17th. The event which is organized by Euresearch and BaselArea.swiss will highlight the opportunities of different European funding possibilities like Eurostar, Horizon 2020, SME instrument and the new Innosuisse offerings. The event will take place April 17, 2018 from 16:00 to 19:30 at Parterre Rialto, Birsigstrasse 45, 4054 Basel. Participation to the event is free of charge; however, your registration until April 15th is mandatory.
