U.S. global animal health company Zoetis will be managing its Swiss business from Delémont in future. The relocation of the Swiss office to the canton of Jura looks set to create about 10 jobs.
Zoetis manufactures around 300 products for animal health, marketing them in some 120 countries. Worldwide, the company employs in the region of 9,000 staff and generates sales of 4.9 billion US Dollars per annum. Until now, the Swiss office of the company – which was spun off in an initial public offering by U.S. pharmaceuticals giant Pfizer in 2013 – had been in Zurich. As the canton of Jura shared in a press release, Zoetis is relocating in Switzerland to be based in Delémont. Zoetis Suisse Sàrl has a staff complement of 20 and around 10 jobs will be moving to Jura. This site will not only be managing Swiss business, but also coordinating numerous international projects.
According to the press release, Zoetis had contacted the Office of Economic Development of the canton of Jura last year. The attractive framework conditions and outstanding collaboration with the cantonal authorities were both instrumental in Zoetis making a quick decision to relocate.
