The Swiss Economic Forum and the Basel Chamber of Commerce want to make the Swiss life sciences and healthcare industries sustainable. Set to support the proposal is FutureHealth Basel, which will bring together 250 key industry players in January.
Demographic development and technological advancements require a change in the healthcare system, explained the Basel Chamber of Commerce and the Swiss Economic Forum (SEF) in a joint statement.
To drive this change, the two institutes have initiated the FutureHealth Basel conference. It will be held on January 26 next year and will bring together 250 key players from the healthcare industry.
The conference will “not only focus on technology and science,” explained SEF CEO Dominik Isler in the statement. It will also be geared towards “patients and their needs”.
Franz A. Saladin, head of the Basel Chamber of Commerce, added that the conference is business-oriented and will highlight corporate and strategic issues. He said: “We are delighted to bring a new conference format with an international reach to Basel with FutureHealth Basel.”
Participants were selected with the aim of ensuring a varied mix, explained the statement. It will be followed by the “Changemaker Conference” to network “young international talent from the sector with leading personalities from life sciences and medtech companies, technology companies, managed service providers, logistics companies, authorities, health insurance firms and hospitals”.
