The Basel-based start-up Visionarity is one of nine companies selected for the Digital Health programme of the Finnish start-up accelerator Vertical. 500 start-ups from across Europe applied for a spot.
As a participant in the programme, Visionarity will receive mentoring and training between August and December. The Basel-based digital health company – which developed a digital platform that incorporates gamifcation elements that motivate users to improve their health – can also look forward to contact with investors and customers, enabling it make further progress in terms of sustainable growth and the application of innovative technologies.
“It was a rigorous selection process. Choosing Visionarity to participate in the programme is evidence that we are on the right track and have done our homework. We will further optimise our product and service strategy, and in particular gain access to new markets and interesting investors,” CEO Kolja A. Rafferty said in a statement.
He also announced a Series A financing round, for which the Vertical programme will serve as preparation. Vertical assists start-ups in the digital health, wellness and sports fields, and its Digital Health programme has 200 mentors who share their experiences with the start-ups.

The Vertical programme will help Visionarity refine its vision and the added value of its services, and quickly position a scalable business model for the European market,” said Kenneth Salonius, head of operations at Vertical.
