The Basel-based IT infrastructure company Swiss Safe Cloud is assisting the Germany company Tomtec to transmit its medical diagnostic data. Safe Swiss Cloud ensures security during data transfer and data protection.
With Tomtec Zero, Tomtec has created a solution that allows cardiovascular imaging data to be used from different locations. This provides doctors the information they need anytime and anywhere. Diagnoses can also be transmitted in real time to other doctors or hospitals.
"Security is the paramount principle in the automated processing of health data in the cloud", wrote Safe Swiss Cloud in a statement, which is why Tomtec decided in favour of collaborating with the Basel-based company. With what it calls its 100 per cent secure data processing in Switzerland, Safe Swiss Cloud fulfils “the strictest regulatory requirements for data protection in Europe”.
In the future, Tomtec would like to develop its software solution with artificial intelligence. “In the foreseeable future, people will come face to face with a mobile diagnostic device in shopping centres and receive information about their heart in real time. In the event of potential problems, contact will be established with a cardiologist – all at a low cost to the patient. The tremendous power of cloud computing lies in the fact that it is able to accomplish this”, said Daniel Müri, CEO of Safe Swiss Cloud.
