Clariant debuts sustainable zeolites for vehicles

Muttenz BL – Specialty chemicals company Clariant is presenting solutions for the sustainable use of zeolites at an international conference being held this week. Its zeolite innovations help reduce vehicle emissions.

Clariant is presenting its innovations at the 18th International Zeolite Conference, which is being held in Rio de Janeiro until 24 June. This year’s event is focusing on “Zeolites for a Sustainable World”.

According to a Clariant statement, Silke Sauerbeck is attending on behalf of the Clariant R&D team to present the latest recent and findings regarding new zeolite solutions for adsorption of automobile volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.

Zeolite solutions are already available for exhaust gas systems, but upcoming regulations will also require the reduction of VOC emissions from sources such as tires, interior materials and fuel vapours, explains Clariant. The latest Clariant research is exploring how to permanently trap these sources.

Alongside its own portfolio of zeolite powders and catalysts, Clariant also collaborates with customers to developed customised zeolite solutions for specific requirements.
