October 29-30 Lift Basel 2015 will take a deep look into the digitally empowered future of Life Sciences and Healthcare. The session «Surgeon Superpowers» in cooperation with Florian Zeilhofer, innovator, entrepreneur and chief physician at the University Hospital Basel will show the range of new technologies developed by his team that will change the operating theatre.
In the workshop «Precision Medicine», hosted by i-net, experts from Novartis, Actelion and Roche will explore possible new applications to challenges in «Coupling diagnosis and therapies - towards better feedback Loops», «New approaches beyond genetic stratification» and also in the concrete use of «Mobile Health».
The Life Sciences Network Basel will invite participants to think about «Basel Tomorrow - Envisioning the Life Sciences City 2025» and to gather ideas, ask questions, attempt to express demands and join forces in order to help make this city a better place not only for research and business, but also first and foremost for motivated people who want to make things happen.
Rob Carlson will open Lift Basel 2015 in the Session «Synthetic Biology Today and Tomorrow». The author of the book «Biology is Technology: The Promise, Peril, and New Business of Engineering Life», inventor of the Carlson Curve (the biotech equivalent of Moore’s law) and now co-founder and managing director of the venture capital firm Bioeconomy will offer a broad and visionary look at the development of machine making custom DNA and its implications for societal life and businss.
Connecting innovators in Life Sciences and Information Technologies the second edition of the Lift Basel Conference will take at Basel’s Markthalle on October 29-30, 2015, with the support of i-net as presenting partner and with funding by the State Secretariat of Economic Affairs, the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft together with Regio Basiliensis.
