15th International Symposium on Persistent Toxic Substances (ISPTS)

Persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances are a threat to the environment and humankind due to their biomagnification and the long-term-effects. One example are polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) which were widely used as coolants, insulating fluids and for various other applications before they were banned.
The International Symposium on Toxic Persistent Substances (ISPTS) addresses many questions about the environmental processes, bioaccumulation and toxicity as well as the development of innovative technologies for contamination control. This year, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) is proud to organize the event and to welcome many international speakers and participants.
The first day, Nov. 7th, includes short Industrial and Stakeholder Sessions to showcase innovative technologies and methods of the industry for example to quantify polyaromatic hydrocarbons in potable water, pollutant screenings or reuse of activated carbon to process drinking water. chairs and supports this session.
